This area of St. Louis County sits high on bluffs overlooking the Mississippi River and allowing for scenic views and spectacular sunrises. Also, dogs are allowed so we bring our Basset Hounds as they are into people watching. Forest Park is the largest urbanContinue reading “The Boathouse”

Sunrise on Lake Michigan
The problem with photographing a sunrise is that you have to get up early. To get this photo I rented a room near the beach. At sunrise, I walked out, took some photos and went back to bed. Easy! Park Bench
Finally, a little snow in St. Louis. These benches look over Forest Park’s Grand Basin, the heart of the 1904 World’s Fair.
Eagle watching for its prey
Winter is Eagle weather for the St. Louis area. Eagles can be found along the Mississippi river, most notably Alton and Grafton Illinois and Clarksvill, Missouri. During the summer I see a lot of Eagles on the Northwoods of Wisconsin. Here is a photo taken with my old Pentax K100D with a Tamron 70 –Continue reading “Eagle watching for its prey”
Artist’s Barn
In Hermann, Missouri (Missouri’s wine country) there is an overgrown alley called Hollyhock Alley. If you venture up the steep grade, you will find this old barn along with some hidden Bed and Breakfasts.
