Years ago out in Whidbey Island, Wa I took my basset hound out by the golf course surrounded by thick brush, and heavy rabbit traffic. My basset did just as they are designed. Her big shoulders made it possible to charge through brush I could not eve walk through. The rabbit is suppose to stop in that brush when in a panic from the baying basset sound. The hunt was successful.
