On this Veteran’s Day, remembering those who lost their lives in the service of our armed services.

This is Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, an American military cemetery located in St. Louis County, Missouri, just on the banks of the Mississippi River. The cemetery was established after the American Civil War in an attempt to put together a formal network of military cemeteries.

The cemetery is an interesting place to visit to honor those that served their country and to see the museums and other attractions in the area.

This is an early morning photograph showing the lighting contrast and long shadows of the markers.
