This is an interesting intersection in St. Louis’ Forest Part where walking paths, a foot bridge and stream intersect. This time of year the flowers start to bloom making it a popular place to be. Our dogs love to come here to explore and walk in the stream. However, crossing the swaying suspension bridge isContinue reading “A walk in Forest Park”

Fall in the Park
One of the more spectacular areas in Forest Park is the Grand Basin with it’s 8 fountains and the Art Museum towering above. However, I like this quite area just to the east of the Basin. This is one of two waterways that allow you to take a paddle boat to the Grand Basin andContinue reading “Fall in the Park”
Go back!
If there is a particular subject that you like, I suggest you go back multiple times to photograph it. The more you study a subject, the better your understanding of how to photograph it. One of my favorite subjects is a suspension bridge in St. Louis’ Forest Park. Below is a series ranging from 2008Continue reading “Go back!”
Forest Park Waterway
It was a beautiful day today in St. Louis so time to take the dogs for a walk in Forest Park. This is one of my favorite subjects in the park, an old suspension footbridge. The dogs hate this bridge because it has sort of a screen bottom that you can see through. It alsoContinue reading “Forest Park Waterway”
Bearskin Trail
The Bearskin Trail crosses lakes and marshes providing a wonderful way to view scenic Oneida County in northern Wisconsin. This old railroad trestle serves as the starting point out of downtown Minocqua.
Demise of a bridge

For decades this narrow and dangerous bridge served as one of the few connections between St. Louis and St. Charles Counties. This series of photos was pulled from a video of the complete explosion of the bridge. The second photo shows theContinue reading “Demise of a bridge”
Suspension Bridge
The wild grasses planted in St. Louis’ Forest Park always make for nice fall scenes. This afternoon I was out walking with the dogs, taking some photos and took a quick one of this foot bridge. This always seems to be a popular subject of mine. Also, the bridge is a suspension bridge and dueContinue reading “Suspension Bridge”
Mackinac Bridge

Minocqua Trestle
The Minocqua train trestle is one of my favorite landmarks in the area. In the 50’s and 60’s you could hear the trains coming from miles away and watch the locomotives break through the trees to cross the bridge. Today it the trail head for the Bearskin Trail. https://greatrivers.smugmug.com/Galleries/Northwoods/i-jHMpWBL/A

More Springtime Daffodils. This time from St. Louis’ Forest Park. As I have stated before, this is one of America’s largest and most beautiful urban parks. Be sure to click on the links to see more photos of the park if you have not been there before! Here is a scene of the Park’s suspensionContinue reading “Daffodils in early Spring”
