St. Louis Downtown’s Kiener Plaza. The Plaza just had a complete remake leaving only the statue. This great view includes the plaza, the Old Courthouse and the Arch. A wide lens allows you to get up close to the fountain while including the buildings and arch. Also this photo was taken well after sunset giving it a nice color.
My hometown, St. Louis, with our old courthouse and the Gateway Arch behind it. The pathway here is part of the new Kiener Plaza (not sure what was wrong with the old Kiener Plaza). Lots to do and photograph in this area but be sure to get the Arch in the background!
This photo was taken about 30 minutes after sunset to get the nice even lighting. Also, this is a three shot bracketed photo to get the lighting right. Everything was processed in Photomatix and Lightroom.
This is Kiener Plaza in St. Louis. More significantly, the building in the background is the Old Courthouse, built between 1839 and 1862. The Courthouse is the site where an enslaved husband and wife, Dred and Harriet Scott, sued for their freedom, and Virginia Minor sued for a woman’s right to vote in 1872. Also, the St. Louis Arch is in the background.
This photo was taken on a rainy evening at ISO 100 with the lens wide open to f2.8. It is a a three shot HDR photo processed in Photomatix and Lightroom.
