Sunrise on the Mississippi

With the many bluffs overlooking the Missisppi River, this one in South St. Louis County gave a beautiful vantage point to see this sunrise. The water here comes from as far away as Wyoming, Montana, Canada and Northern Wisconsin and is destined for New Orleans. Elsah Church

North of St. Louis is a scenic area near the convergence of the Illinois and Mississippi. The drive along this area is called The Great River Road and visitors can take days to explore the area.
