One of the best places to observe spectacular sunrises is at the White House Retreat in South St. Louis County. This is on a bluff overlooking the Mississippi River valley and early morning risers are rarely disappointed.

With the many bluffs overlooking the Missisppi River, this one in South St. Louis County gave a beautiful vantage point to see this sunrise. The water here comes from as far away as Wyoming, Montana, Canada and Northern Wisconsin and is destined for New Orleans. A great place to watch the river roll by
This blog, Great Rivers Imaging, comes from the heart of the nation. The confluence of the Mississippi, Missouri and Illinois rivers is just a few miles north of this photo. This outcrop on a bluff overlooking the Mississippi is a great place to observe it all!
I just returned from a three day retreat on the Mississippi. I go every other year so I posted a couple of photos before this one from previous visits. This is the first post from this year showing a fabulous sunrise over the river.
