This area of the Missouri Botanical Garden is a popular place to visit. When the Cherry Blossoms are in bloom the setting with the bridge is worth a spring visit! Countryside
After weeks of rain, snow and freezing weather for the past few weeks, it is time to get out into the countryside. Even in the dead of winter, there are beautiful colors and landscapes to photograph. Ducks at sunset
The Mississippi River is a “flyway” for Ducks, Geese and many other migratory birds. During the fall the birds fly as through surreal painting. These guys are coming in for the night after flying hundreds of miles.
Hunting in the fall
Here is a hunter putting his decoys out in front of a blind. These days out in the country can be more scenic than expected with the contrasting colors and beautiful skies. Much hunting is done at sunrise or sunset providing a beautiful setting.
Bassets on the run
This is one of my favorite recent photos taken while observing these Basset Hounds showing off their tracking skills. When processing the pictures from that day I did not remember any bassets being chased by horses. What was happening was that, while cutting through this pasture, the Bassets were running to join another group ofContinue reading “Bassets on the run”
Bedtime for Wild Ducks

On this day these guys would have traveled hundreds of miles and by the time the sun sets, this waterway willContinue reading “Bedtime for Wild Ducks”
World’s Fair Pavilion
There is no shortage of great architecture in St. Louis’ Forest Park. This is the World’s Fair Pavilion built in 1909 with proceeds from the 1904 World’s Fair held here in Forest Park. Government Hill’s colorfully lit fountain and reflecting pool were added in 1930. The other side of the building offers a spectacular view ofContinue reading “World’s Fair Pavilion”

Wall Art
Scenic Pontiac, Illinois promotes it past association with the old Route 66. This town has a number of annual events and museums commemorating its past glory days. Also, they have these wonderful nostalgic scenes painted on walls around town. These are iPhone 6s photos processed in Snapseed.
