High Horse
This gift shop was built in 1856 according to the sign. However, I suspect it did not start out as a tourist trap. This is a building in Elsa, Illinois, an old village along the Mississippi River between Alton and Grafton. This 18th century enclave is fun to explore with lost of classic old buildings.
Returning from the hunt
After scouring woods, creeks and valleys, hunters return empty handed. This is in Lincoln County, Missouri with low rolling hills that turn into rugged terrain towards the Mississippi River. Equestrian Sunset
The fall sunsets seem to be extra brilliant and then minutes afterward become even more so. Here I was on the edge of this pasture to photograph the colors and the horses had to come over to see what I was doing.
