As you drive through the back roads in Missouri, it is not unusual pass many horse farms. I visited this farm where they raise these beautiful Arabian horses. While I was watching them, they could not help showing off for me. As they pranceded around, they kept looking at me to make sure I wasContinue reading “Arabians”

Wheatfield
The last couple of posts have been about barns, so I thought I would post one of my favorite barn photos. This is on Interstate 39 just north of Bloomington, Illinois. As I was driving on 39, I kept seeing these interesting barns and finally pulled over to photograph one. The sky and clouds wereContinue reading “Wheatfield”
Pasture
I liked this scene with the fall color and the lone horse in the pasture. Probably trying to get the last good grass of the season. This photo was taken with a 300mm lens as the horse was not very close. The lens condenses the distance and beyond the horse is a large pasture withContinue reading “Pasture”

A rural scene in St. Charles County. This area along the Mississippi River is lined with duck clubs where avid hunters come out in the Fall to try their hand at bagging a few Mallards. Here the hunter is arranging his decoys. Notice his blind is right in hes back yard.

Old Barn
This is just off highway 39, north of Bloomington, Illinois. Driving from Rockford to St. Louis, I kept seeing these very scenic old barns and finally found one that was easy to get to. The scene is great but the clouds make the photo!
