Fall Colors in Forest Park
I watched these trees for about 10 days as they changed to red from the top down. This is St. Louis’ art museum in Forest Park. When the time was right, I took this photo a few minutes before sunrise as a 5 shot HDR (see my tutorial: https://greatriversimaging.com/hdr/), combined them in Photomatix and finishedContinue reading “Fall Colors in Forest Park”
Nathan Frank Band Stand
An early walk in St. Louis’ Forest Park can be rewarding. This is the Nathan Frank Band Stand in front of what is known as the Muny Opera, an open air theater. This is a favorite area because there is so much to see within a few hundred feet. This photo was taken just atContinue reading “Nathan Frank Band Stand”
Flags of Valor
7000 “Flags of Valor” cover Art Hill in St. Louis’ Forest Park. These flags commemorate 9/11 in 2016 and honor fallen soldiers fighting terrorism. I spent an hour one evening taking photos of the site from various angles. Here is on facing the St. Louis Art Museum with the sun setting in the background.
Forest Park Waterway
It was a beautiful day today in St. Louis so time to take the dogs for a walk in Forest Park. This is one of my favorite subjects in the park, an old suspension footbridge. The dogs hate this bridge because it has sort of a screen bottom that you can see through. It alsoContinue reading “Forest Park Waterway”
Planetarium
Our local Planetarium in St. Louis. This is part of our science center and they do a good job of lighting the top. This is part of the Christmas theme and there is even a bow!
Winter at the Boathouse
Even winter in St. Louis’ Forest Park can be very scenic. A walk around Post Dispatch Lake provided this view of the park’s boathouse.
Post-Dispatch Lake
A walk around Forest Park’s Post-Dispatch Lake gives this particular view. From this perspective, you would not know that you are in the center of St. Louis’ metropolitan area, surrounded by homes, apartments, hospitals and commercial areas. You would expect to find a Duck Blind nearby.
Suspension Bridge
The wild grasses planted in St. Louis’ Forest Park always make for nice fall scenes. This afternoon I was out walking with the dogs, taking some photos and took a quick one of this foot bridge. This always seems to be a popular subject of mine. Also, the bridge is a suspension bridge and dueContinue reading “Suspension Bridge”
Forest Park
A photo from Forest Park next to Post-Dispatch Lake (yes, I was at The Boathouse). The light was just right and I was lucky to have my camera with me.
