Chapel Path

A foggy morning at Chaumette Winery. Happy New Year! My wife and I stayed at one of Chaumette’s Villas for New Year’s Eve and an ice storm that night brought heavy fog in the morning. This is their little chapel they use for weddings on the property. That New Years Day morning was great forContinue reading “Chapel Path”

Chaumette Villas in Wine Country

These villas are in a secluded, scenic and serene destination on the grounds of Chaumette Winery in the heart of beautiful Ste. Genevieve wine country. Wineries with lodging for weekend getaways in Missouri are hard to find, which is why Chaumette offers villa studio suites with a king size bed and small kitchenette. Their villasContinue reading “Chaumette Villas in Wine Country”

Chaumette

Chaumette is one of Missouri’s many  wonderful wineries. They have a nice selection of their own wines in addition to a great kitchen serving lunch and dinners. Sit on their porch for an unending view of the Ozarks low rolling hills. If you do not want to drive home after a nice dinner, stay inContinue reading “Chaumette”

Elephant Rocks

Elephant Rocks State Park can be found outside of Ironton, MO in the Ozarks. This outcropping of pink granite was once part of a quarry and is now a park where you can wander around the park and see the ancient worn boulders. The outcropping raises above the treetops providing a spectacular view.

Indian Cliff Falls

Near the entrance to the Dogwood Canyon trails is Indian Cliff Falls. This stunning scene is right behind the grist mill that marks the entrance to the canyon. For those that are not familiar with this area, it is deep in Southwestern Missouri not too far from Branson. Dogwood Canyon Nature Park covers 10,000 acresContinue reading “Indian Cliff Falls”

The previous photo was sunset from this deck. This is sunrise from Villa 21 at Chaumette winery. I used a 10mm lens to get the converging lines from the deck and the horizon with the sunrise. Staying in this Vialla, at 7:00 am, I stepped out onto the deck with camera and tripod. Took theContinue reading “21”

Sunset at Chaumette

This is one of my all time favorite photos from Chaumette Winery. One day I rented one of their villas and captured this sunset photo from the porch. While Chaumette is in the Missouri Ozarks, this is an area of low rolling hills but the height of the property gives a spectacular view. This photoContinue reading “Sunset at Chaumette”
