Empty Bandstand

The Nathan Frank Bandstand on a cold winter day. We had a brief snow but not enough cold weather to freeze Pagoda Lake. A snowy day is a great time to visit Forest Park with the geese and ducks still swimming around and sledders on Art Hill. The park is only a few miles fromContinue reading “Empty Bandstand”

Winter Sets In

Winter is setting in in Forest Park and St. Louis. This is one my favorite areas in the park with the suspension foot bridge and ducks, geese and egrets hanging around. Just east of the park’s Grand Basin, this was the site of the St. Louis World’s Fair, 120 years ago. Click on the photoContinue reading “Winter Sets In”

This made everything very entertaining.Continue reading “St. Louis Zoo Penguin Walk”

Snowfall in Forest Park

Nice weather in St. Louis for Thanksgiving in St. Louis but winter is on its way! The snow here was falling pretty hard and the ducks did not have a chance to shake it off; a flap of the wings would have done the trick. This iconic scene is in the middle of St. Louis’Continue reading “Snowfall in Forest Park”

Snowy bridge

The lines of the foot bridge in Forest Park always make it an interesting subject. We have been receiving a lot of snow over the past few days so I headed over to the park to see if there were any interesting shots. Down, at my feet were  bunch of geese honking at me (youContinue reading “Snowy bridge”

Geese

With snow predicted, I thought it might be a good day to go out to Forest Park and see if there was anything to photograph. The geese and ducks seemed to be settled in due to the bad weather but the big white goose seemed intent on following me as  walked along the shore. ThisContinue reading “Geese”
