North Bay is a small, shallow body of water on the the northern tip of Door County, Wisconsin. The shallow water provides scenic texture to the beautiful scene looking out over Lake Michigan. This is a great area to watch sunrises and for kayaking.
This is a Duluth-type life saving station that began operations April 1, 1896, serving the Portes des Morts Passage (more commonly called “Death’s Door”) at the entrance to Green Bay. The Algoma Light or Algoma Pierhead Light is a lighthouse located near Algoma in Kewaunee County, Wisconsin. The lighthouse was first established in 1893 as a set of range lights.

Sunrise on North Bay near Baileys Harbor in Door County, Wisconsin. This view always has spectacular colors but you have to get up early to see them. However, watching the full moon come over the horizon happens in early evening, a much better time.
I really liked the soft tones of some photos I have seen and I have been looking for ways to accomplish the effect. What I found was that you really have to take these photos during the “Golden Hour.” That is, take your photos about 10 minutes before sunrise/sunset to 10 minutes after. Driving across this bridge is not for the fainthearted. The bridge is over 26,000 feet long and if going, it is best to go to the bridge website for a weather report as the deck will sway in high wind.
