Winter at Pagoda Circle

On a snow day, Forest Park is an interesting place to explore. Everything looks different, the water is a little calmer and the ducks are hunkering down on the lakes.

Snowy bridge

The lines of the foot bridge in Forest Park always make it an interesting subject. We have been receiving a lot of snow over the past few days so I headed over to the park to see if there were any interesting shots. Down, at my feet were  bunch of geese honking at me (you […]

Geese

With snow predicted, I thought it might be a good day to go out to Forest Park and see if there was anything to photograph. The geese and ducks seemed to be settled in due to the bad weather but the big white goose seemed intent on following me as  walked along the shore. This […]

Cold Night on Beale

Beale Street in Memphis. Home of BB King’s Blues Club, Tater Red’s Lucky Mojos, Pork with an attitude and much more! This was a cold night in February so not very crowded. This was a single shot photo taken at a high ISO. Great street to photograph with all of the neon signs.

North Bay, Door County

Beautiful scenes like this have been created heavy snows in North Central United States. It takes heartier souls to get up to these areas to capture the beautiful scenery. -Photo by Mary Beth Engler

We discussed it with a friend who had to drive up to Baileys Harbor and, within a few days, the two were […]

Park Benches

The winter of 2019 has been particularly snowy giving St. Louisans beautiful vistas and icy roads. These benches overlook Forest Park’s Grand Basin and in the upper right hand corner of the photo you can see people sledding on Forest Park’s famous Art Hill. Any time of year, this is a popular place.

Nathan Frank Bandstand

It snowed last night so I thought I would go to Forest Park this morning to take a few photos. The Nathan Frank Bandstand in front of the Municipal Opera is always a good subject and this morning it looked great! This is a three shot HDR photo edited in Lightroom and Aurora. Not much […]

Kirkwood Station

The holidays mean travel to meet friends and family and nothing signifies travel better that Kirkwood Missouri’s train station. I drove to Kirkwood late in the afternoon to photograph the station at sunset. This photo was taken well after sunset and the resulting photo was dark with a few highlights showing. However, I used the […]
