This is the opposite view from the previous post. St. Cecilia’s choir sits above the entrance to the church along with the organ and it’s pipes. This photo was taken with my D7100 and a Sigma 17-50mm f2.8 lens. A tripod was used to take three photos and the settings were: 27mm, 100 ISO, f13Continue reading “Choir Loft”

St. Cecilia Church
Here is a nice wide angle view of the inside of St. Cecilia Church in South St. Louis. This is a three shot HDR photo (10mm, ISO100, D7100, f13) processed in Lightroom and Photomatix.
Planetarium
Our local Planetarium in St. Louis. This is part of our science center and they do a good job of lighting the top. This is part of the Christmas theme and there is even a bow!
Winter at the Boathouse
Even winter in St. Louis’ Forest Park can be very scenic. A walk around Post Dispatch Lake provided this view of the park’s boathouse.
A walk in Queeny Park
This is a view of Queeny Park in St. Louis County. The park is a favorite place to take my dogs for a long walk. On this walk we socialized with ten or twenty other dogs on the trail and saw a few deer. This is a three shot HDR photo processed in Lightroom, PhotomatixContinue reading “A walk in Queeny Park”
Kansas City Union Station
Here is another photo from Kansas City’s Crown Center Hotel (see previous post). I took this late enough that there were very few cars in the parking lot. Also, it was very nice of the Union Station people to use interesting red lights on the building. This is a three shot HDR photo using aContinue reading “Kansas City Union Station”
Downtown KC
On a recent trip to Kansas City, my hotel unexpectedly gave me a suite on the top floor. The room had sliding window that allowed me to open it and take this photo. Using a table as a tripod, this is a three shot HDR photo shot at an ISO of 200, f7.1 and anContinue reading “Downtown KC”
Post-Dispatch Lake
A walk around Forest Park’s Post-Dispatch Lake gives this particular view. From this perspective, you would not know that you are in the center of St. Louis’ metropolitan area, surrounded by homes, apartments, hospitals and commercial areas. You would expect to find a Duck Blind nearby.
Suspension Bridge
The wild grasses planted in St. Louis’ Forest Park always make for nice fall scenes. This afternoon I was out walking with the dogs, taking some photos and took a quick one of this foot bridge. This always seems to be a popular subject of mine. Also, the bridge is a suspension bridge and dueContinue reading “Suspension Bridge”
Interlopers unwelcome
These Basset Hounds are waiting to go home after spending a day in the fields showing off their tracking skills when another dog comes along from a neighboring farm.
