The ruins of Ha Ha Tonka are an amazing place to explore. This is an old burned out estate overlooking the Lake of the Ozarks that has been turned into a state park. The ruins include a large stone house, carriage house and water tower all on dramatic bluffs overlooking the lake. You can exploreContinue reading “Water Tower at Ha Ha Tonka”

Cold Morning in the Park
Lots of snow and ice in St. Louis over the past few days and more coming. While it makes lift difficult here, it makes for a beautiful landscape and slows life down a little bit.
Decoys
A the moment, a quiet setting at one of St. Charles’ numerous duck hunting clubs. Earlier a storm came through cooling things off and soon after the sunsets the ducks will will be ready to roost and flock into this lake. Currently the lake is occupied by decoys tempting others to join them.
St. Charles Farm
This is one of the many duck clubs along the Mississippi river. Missouri offers one of the best sites in the nation for duck hunting and St. Charles County is no exception. Their villasContinue reading “Chaumette Villas in Wine Country”
Fall Morning
This is one of my favorite photos of Wisconsin’s Northwoods. Also, it may be one of my all-time favorite photos. This is early morning on Lake Minocqua as the snows were starting to set in. I got up early one morning to photograph a sunrise in this spot but was met with this surreal site:Continue reading “Fall Morning”
Wheatfield
The last couple of posts have been about barns, so I thought I would post one of my favorite barn photos. This is on Interstate 39 just north of Bloomington, Illinois. As I was driving on 39, I kept seeing these interesting barns and finally pulled over to photograph one. The sky and clouds wereContinue reading “Wheatfield”
Country Road
Simplistic structures like this make great subjects. A simple barn on the side of the road. I have to admit that that I use special software to make it look like a painting. I think I used a Van Gogh effect giving it that swirly brush look.
