Jewel Box
There are a lot of cool things in Forest Park and this is one. The Jewel Box was dedicated Nov. 14, 1936 and cost about $117,000, with about 45 percent coming from Public Works Administration (WPA) funds. It was designed by city engineer William C. E. Hidden away in Eminence, Missouri is Alley Mill. This mill has a large backup lake behind it spilling through the gate in front. This spring fed mill has crystal clear water spilling through it. Driving through the back alleys of Hermann, Missouri I found this interesting barn. Hermann is on the Missouri River and is full of wineries, restaurants and bed & Breakfasts.
Dogwood
Missouri neighborhoods and countryside are full of Dogwoods. With our cool and rainy spring they have been prolific giving us this colorful spring. Be sure to get out and enjoy it!
Falls in Dogwood Canyon
Right out of the gate, this is the first thing you see once you enter Dogwood Canyon. This is a park in Lampe, Missouri with a three mile walk that goes through streams, waterfalls and scenic bridges. For photographers this is a place you could spend days.
Peaceful Stream
This peaceful scene is from Dogwood Canyon, a beautiful area in Southwestern Missouri. A walk through this area is complete with streams, waterfalls and scenic structures. It is worth the visit. Be sure to check back next week for some new photos from this crazy place.
