This peaceful scene is from Dogwood Canyon, a beautiful area in Southwestern Missouri. A walk through this area is complete with streams, waterfalls and scenic structures. It is worth the visit. Be sure to check back next week for some new photos from this crazy place.

Christmas in the Governor’s home
Missouri Governor’s Mansion ready for Christmas. The Mansion has a two story Christmas tree in the stairway and trees in every room. However this little side-room has two trees and other decorations making it the place to be on Christmas morning. I was lucky enough to receive a Christmas invitation to visit with the GovernorContinue reading “Christmas in the Governor’s home”
Eclipse
Monday I closed the office, gave the employees paid vacation and headed down to De Soto, Missouri to get my best shot at the eclipse. Here is the result to add to all of the others out there. The total eclipse was something to experience with the slowly darkening sky and suddenly there is thisContinue reading “Eclipse”
Old Courthouse
My hometown, St. Louis, with our old courthouse and the Gateway Arch behind it. The pathway here is part of the new Kiener Plaza (not sure what was wrong with the old Kiener Plaza). Lots to do and photograph in this area but be sure to get the Arch in the background! This photo wasContinue reading “Old Courthouse”
Public Opinion
Spectators gather on the mid floors of the Missouri State Capitol and look down onto the main floor where people celebrate the election of their favorite candidate. On night of the “Governor’s Ball” the Capitol is alive with people visiting their representative’s office, celebrating and exploring the vast caverns of the building. The photo wasContinue reading “Public Opinion”

Kansas City
While in Kansas City for a meeting, I checked into the hotel. Asked if I had a floor preference, I told them the higher the better (always like a view). The clerk handed me the key (card) and up I went and found that I had been given a suite for the price of the discountedContinue reading “Kansas City”
Missouri State Capitol
Inauguration day in the Missouri State Capitol. As music plays in the rotunda all of the offices are staffed and full of people from both parties. Truly and exciting time to visit and open to anyone who wants to attend. This is a hand held photo taken at 1/10th of a second, f3.5, 18mm, ISOContinue reading “Missouri State Capitol”
Inauguration Day
Missouri State Capitol preparing for the inauguration of a new governor and seating of all of the new elected officials. This special day gave me an excuse to visit our historic capitol building and explore its hallways for hidden treasures.
Forest Park Waterway
It was a beautiful day today in St. Louis so time to take the dogs for a walk in Forest Park. This is one of my favorite subjects in the park, an old suspension footbridge. The dogs hate this bridge because it has sort of a screen bottom that you can see through. It alsoContinue reading “Forest Park Waterway”
