Drunken Fish

While walking around the Central West End in St. Louis, this looked like a pretty good subject for a photo. The Central West End has lots of interesting restaurants, stores and people. As noted in the previous photo, we had lunch at Llywelyn’s with my wife and our Basset Hounds and then walked for aContinue reading “Drunken Fish”

Llywelyn’s

On Memorial Day I took my wife and Basset Hounds to lunch in St. Louis’ Central West End. This is an eclectic area with lots of interesting restaurants, shops and people. Llywelyn’s is an old restaurant in the area with good food. While we had lunch, the dogs did a little people watching!

“Veni, Vidi, Vici,”

“Veni, Vidi, Vici,” or “I came, I saw, I conquered” is inscribed above Adolphus Busch’s mausoleum. Mary Beth and I visited the Bellefontaine Cemetery today to pay our respects to family and always have to stop and pay our respects to the “King of Beers” too. https://greatrivers.smugmug.com/Galleries/Portfolio/i-3rghbJC/A

Early morning is Forest Park. Be sure to check out more Forest Park photos on this blog including some of the fall color photos. Millions of dollars and, more importantly, true dedication to this park in St. Louis has turned this area into the crown jewel of the City of St. Louis. There are unendingContinue reading “Sunrise in Forest Park”

Flags of Valor

7000 “Flags of Valor” cover Art Hill in St. Louis’ Forest Park. These flags commemorate 9/11 in 2016 and honor fallen soldiers fighting terrorism. I spent an hour one evening taking photos of the site from various angles. Here is on facing the St. Louis Art Museum with the sun setting in the background.
