The Keyhole. A little stream that runs under a stone stairway in the remote valley of Dogwood Canyon. Streams run through this scenic valley make it a great place to hike and enjoy the view. To get this photo I had to place a tripod on a stone in the middle of the stream toContinue reading “Keyhole”

Here is an artist’s shop in Door County, Wisconsin. This is a old farm where the owner displays various crafts in various buildings that were once used of agriculture. The whole county is like this with very creative uses for buildings.

Take Highway 51 north out of Wausau, Wisconsin and farmland will turn to woods which will soon be surrounded by scenic lakes. Here you will be in the Great Northwoods of Wisconsin. Fading of the Golden Hour
Last rays of sunshine transition from a colorful sunset to the blue sky of dusk. North Bay in Wisconsin shelters the waters of Lake Michigan so you have a slow rolling surf able to reflect the colorful sky. A special time to take photographs is during the “golden hour,” 30 minutes before and after sunset.Continue reading “Fading of the Golden Hour”

Flying low in front of the St. Louis Arch
The St. Louis skyline makes a great photograph with the Arch, the buildings and the river. This is a photo I took recently from a heliocopter photography trip. This was the low pass. After this photo was taken we turned around for another pass at a higher alititude.
Flying Doors Off
I few weeks ago I had the opportunity to fly in a helicopter to photograph St. Louis’ riverfront. This is a pretty exciting thing to do if you get the chance. Be sure to have the doors off so there are no obstructions (and be sure you are well buckeled in). Shooting with a higherContinue reading “Flying Doors Off”
