A quiet morning on Lake Michigan. This bay is shallow so there is limited boat traffic and sitting on the dock watching the sunrise is a must for this area. Also this is a bay which keeps the waves down. This is a three shot HDR photo taken on a tripod. See my HDR tutorialContinue reading “Morning in Door County”

Sunset in the Northwoods
One of my favorite places to visit is the Northwoods of Wisconsin. This is an area in northern Wisconsin containing thousands of lakes surrounded by forests. This setting coupled with extended sunrises, sunsets and calls of the Loons makes this an ideal place to getaway and relax. Here is a dock on Fishtrap Lake newContinue reading “Sunset in the Northwoods”
Spectacular view in Ste. Genevieve County
As we head into Fall, a good way to enjoy the nice weather and take in the scenery is to visit a local winery near you. Many of these places are set on high hills or bluffs which provide spectacular views. This photo was taken for from one of Chaumette Winery’s Chalets overlooking farms surroundingContinue reading “Spectacular view in Ste. Genevieve County”
Chaumette Chalets
With Fall just around the corner now is the time to start thinking about heading out to a local winery or an interesting B&B out in the country. This is a photo of the “Chalets” at Chaumette Vineyards and Winery near scenic St. Genevieve, Missouri. Chaumette has it all: winery, restaurant and their beautiful Chalets.Continue reading “Chaumette Chalets”
Flying low in front of the St. Louis Arch
The St. Louis skyline makes a great photograph with the Arch, the buildings and the river. This is a photo I took recently from a heliocopter photography trip. This was the low pass. After this photo was taken we turned around for another pass at a higher alititude.
St. Louis
Yesterday I had the opportunity to tour our riverfront by Helicopter. Since the purpose was to photograph the area, we flew “doors off” so we could hang out for good shots. Included in this photo is downtown St. Louis, the Gateway Arch, Eads’ Bridge, the Stan Musial Bridge and the Mississippi River. On the horizonContinue reading “St. Louis”
Lumberjack Steam Train
In Laona Wisconsin, you will find the Lumberjack Steam Train. This actual steam train will take you back in time to an actual logging camp in Northern Wisconsin. This is the back-end of the train disappearing into the woods.
Lily Pads
Northern Wisconsin features over 3200 lakes streams and rivers. Also, these areas feature these beautiful marshes. Walk some of the back woods trails and take in the nature.
Devil’s Pool Restaurant
Big Cedar Lodge in Ridgdale, MO is full of great restaurants. Devil’s Pool is a nice casual place for breakfast, lunch or dinner. This interesting entrance hides a large dining area with a deck and an expansive view of Table Rock Lake in Missouri’s Ozarks. If the weather permits, watching the sunset from the deckContinue reading “Devil’s Pool Restaurant”
Alton, IL
The town of Alton, Illinois on the banks of the Mississippi. Previous photos were from South St. Louis County. This is on the edge of the northern border of St. Louis County near the confluence of the Missouri and Mississippi rivers. Truly great rivers!
