Wilson’s Ice Cream shop is an iconic business in the town of Ephraim, Wisconsin. It is interesting to photographers because of it’s bright colors, historic look and the angle it sits on the road. As you walk along the road, it takes on a different look. Be sure to see the photo in full screen.

Forest Park Waterway
It was a beautiful day today in St. Louis so time to take the dogs for a walk in Forest Park. This is one of my favorite subjects in the park, an old suspension footbridge. The dogs hate this bridge because it has sort of a screen bottom that you can see through. It alsoContinue reading “Forest Park Waterway”
Lemonade Stand
Old Town St. Charles, MO is a very well done restoration of a business district. Not only can you shop on Main Street but explore little alleys like this. This is a 3 shot HDR photo.
Rural America
Early morning in Iowa. Point your camera just about anywhere in the Midwest and you will find an interesting composition. This was taken about ten minutes before sunrise and is a 3 shot HDR photo: 32mm, ISO 400, f6.3 with an average exposure of ¼ sec.
Bearskin Trail
The Bearskin Trail crosses lakes and marshes providing a wonderful way to view scenic Oneida County in northern Wisconsin. This old railroad trestle serves as the starting point out of downtown Minocqua.
Little Church
Here is a scenic little church on top of a high hill in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. This is next to the haunted Crescent Hotel. Eureka Springs is an interesting little town near the Missouri border. Plan to spend the day exploring.
Chapel
This is the chapel on the grounds of the White House Retreat in South St. Louis County. Retreats last several days and are held in silence. This chapel overlooks the Mississippi River on this cold foggy morning.
Winter at the Boathouse
Even winter in St. Louis’ Forest Park can be very scenic. A walk around Post Dispatch Lake provided this view of the park’s boathouse.
A walk in Queeny Park
This is a view of Queeny Park in St. Louis County. The park is a favorite place to take my dogs for a long walk. On this walk we socialized with ten or twenty other dogs on the trail and saw a few deer. This is a three shot HDR photo processed in Lightroom, PhotomatixContinue reading “A walk in Queeny Park”
Post-Dispatch Lake
A walk around Forest Park’s Post-Dispatch Lake gives this particular view. From this perspective, you would not know that you are in the center of St. Louis’ metropolitan area, surrounded by homes, apartments, hospitals and commercial areas. You would expect to find a Duck Blind nearby.
