Wisconsin Boathouse
In the 60’s, Wisconsin placed restrictions on boathouses in that state so they could not be rebuilt. The idea was to clear all of the lakes of boathouses over time as they deteriorated. Several weeks ago the governor of Wisconsin signed a law ending the draconian restrictions.
Fredrickson’s Bait Shop
On a remote highway between Saynor and Boulder Junction Wisconsin you will find this little bait shop. Actually it is no longer an active business but a memorial to two women who operated it for for about 70 years. It is currently maintained by a group called Friends of Star Lake. This is one ofContinue reading “Fredrickson’s Bait Shop”
Windy Road
This is a road on the northern tip of the Door County peninsula in Wisconsin. Researching a visit to Door County last fall I found that this was a very popular place to photograph. Visiting some art shows in the area, this was also a favorite scene in artists portfolio of work. When I drove toContinue reading “Windy Road”

New Car
Here is a little scenic corner in Ellison Bay, Wisconsin with a truck that has a new life as a flower bed! Of course, had to stop to take a photo.
Highway 51 Bridge
A number of my photos and articles here have been about low light or night photography. I thought I would share one of my favorites. This is the Highway 51 bridge allowing access onto the island city of Minocqua, Wisconsin. This is the third bridge constructed here in my lifetime and I think the 6thContinue reading “Highway 51 Bridge”
The Beacons
In a few short weeks this lake will be frozen solid until April or May. This is the Beacon’s Resort Boathouse, a very large structure which is a centerpiece of Lake Minocqua in Northern Wisconsin. An early morning during a heavy fog provided some surreal scenes.
